Please join us as we daily pray for America.

(Note: This prayer guide was adapted from others listed on the internet.)

FOR GOD’S PRESENCE

Pray for God’s peace and presence. Pray for God to bring heart-change where needed.  Pray that people would have soft hearts toward one another—the way God’s heart is toward us.

FOR THOSE DIRECTLY AFFECTED

Pray for the family of George Floyd and those whose loved ones have been harmed, injured, or killed during the unrest.

Pray that affected communities would find healing.

FOR THE CHURCH

Pray for Christians to have wisdom and courage to respond with truth and love as they serve their communities and address current events—and as they seek to generate healing, cross bridges, and bring reconciliation. Pray that the Gospel would be proclaimed during these trying times.

Pray for unity within the body of Christ (John 17:20-23, Ephesians 4:3).

FOR KIND AND HONEST PUBLIC DISCOURSE

Pray that our words on social media would bring grace and seek to be constructive, not divisive.  (Col. 4:6)

Pray that reporters and journalists would convey the news honestly and accurately, without deliberately stoking fear, inciting anger, or encouraging reckless behavior.

FOR LAW ENFORCEMENT

Pray for the safety of all law enforcement officers, National Guard, etc.  Pray they would always act justly and uprightly, with the understanding that they are accountable to God as they carry out their responsibilities.

FOR GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS

Christians are called to pray for those in positions of authority—even those with whom we disagree (1 Timothy 2:1-2).  Pray for wisdom and cooperation as lawmakers work to address current issues.  Pray for the president, vice president, federal, state and local leaders.
